Internet Governance 2023 Educational Goals (Part 1)

As we leave 2022 behind we have a chance to take stock and set ourselves some clear and achievable educational goals. It’s easy to find excuses to put off these personal goals due to limited time, commitment and cost but we believe that first step in everyone’s educational journey starts with a plan to achieve your personal educational goals, meanwhile the plan needs to be honest in overcoming the obstructions. In this blog post we provide some simple low or no cost solutions that can become part of your daily, weekly and monthly regime to become a more educated and informed citizen. Some of the recommendations may resonate and others you will ignore as it may not conform to your learning style.
A Roadmap to Learning
During our formative years of our academic pathway were set forward by the designers of the curriculum and job market experts who decide specific topics, style of learning and learning objectives In traditional learning environments these educational elements fit into traditional modalities and as building blocks they fit together to establish the learning fundamentals. Aside from the Virtual School of Internet Governance www.virtualsig.org you can find plenty of no cost, low cost multilingual training from the novice to the in-depth learner.
Online Learning
Since the winter of 2020 the opportunities to learn online has exploded providing a wide range of self paced or set times online learning. At first the online classrooms in many cases were bombarded by hackers but over time the training administrators changed their online security and registration protocols and things became pretty routine using products like ZOOM and others set on a webinar format. The problem with this was the removal of interaction between and among other learners and in some cases closed chat features.
DIPLO IG Course
DIPLO has been a formidable force in codifying the essentials in Internet Governance. They pioneered the concept of Pillars of IG that is generally used by most schools of Internet Governance.
