As the Dean of VSIG and the lead for our popular Spanish version of the course we feel that 2025 is our breakout year to expand our popular course into more international languages. We like to introduce our teams and please welcome them to our team. The full translations will be Urdu and Bengali/Bangala and a full review and update for our French course. We are striving to offer the new courses for the Fall 2025. We look forward to conducting a workshop on Universal Acceptance at the IGF Norway in June 2025. Welcome team members
Urdu Team

Urdu Team Lead
My name is Waqar Ahmad, and I hold a Master of Engineering in Computer Networks from Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada. Moreover, I am certified in Project Management (PMP). Currently, I am working as a Senior Delivery Specialist (Network Infrastructure) at Rogers in Toronto, where I manage and implement comprehensive network systems and infrastructure projects related to telecommunications.
I am an individual member of the North American Regional At-Large Organization (NARALO) and a volunteer for UA Day 2024. I have had the privilege of being an ARIN-52 and ICANN79 fellow, as well as an ICANN81 fellow. I am also affiliated with the Internet Society of Canada Chapter and the IEEE Toronto Section.
With a strong technical background in networks and telecommunications, I am eager to expand my involvement in Internet Governance and ICANN stakeholder constituencies.
Urdu Team

Roshatey Jannat is a Program Manager working in Pakistan with government’s IT Board, specializing in e-Governance, digital transformation, and emerging technologies. She plays a pivotal role in developing technology-led public sector projects, working closely with government stakeholders to implement AI, blockchain, and data analytics in governance.
With a strong foundation in computer science, innovation management, and public policy, she has led initiatives on Special Technology Zones (STZs), digital public infrastructure (DPI), smart cities, and citizen-centric services. Roshatey has been instrumental in policy development, particularly in internet governance, personal data protection, and master data management (MDM), ensuring compliance for interoperable data frameworks.
Beyond her government work, she is an internet governance advocate, actively participating in ICANN, IGF, and VSIG. She champions accessible and inclusive digital ecosystems, with a focus on empowering marginalized communities, especially women in Pakistan. She has also worked to combat internet disruptions and supports freelancers affected by digital access limitations.
Roshatey’s expertise extends to technology incubation centers, AI-driven services and IT hardware manufacturing. She has represented Pakistan on international platforms, pushing for sustainable internet policies and leveraging emerging tech for socio-economic development.

My name is Uzair Farooqi, working as a network analyst & solutions Expert in a Digital Operator called Jazz. Apart from my regular work, I have been a fellow for APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre) , APSIG (Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance) and SANOG (South Asia Network Operator Group). Also I often work as a volunteer with multiple Asia Pacific IG forums . As part of these forums, I have been involved with program committees (APNIC & APSIG), drafting committees (APrIGF) in the last 4 years. .I am a member of the steering committee for APrIGF (Asia Pacific regional Internet Governance Forum). I believe myself to be Internet Governance enthusiast and often speak at local events such as pkSIG (Pakistan School to spread awareness about different topics on Internet Governance and all its stakeholders ..

Faheem Soomro is an Expert in Optical Transport Networks at Jazz, Pakistan, with extensive experience in DWDM, OTN, routers, and optical fiber infrastructure development and maintenance, overseeing critical deployments, network operations, and handover processes. Actively engaged in Internet Governance and DNS, he is an Individual Member of APRALO within ICANN and has been an ICANN81 Fellow. He has also been part of small teams within APRALO for drafting the Applicant Support Program Handbook and consolidating APRALO’s response to ICANN’s Continuous Improvement Program Community Coordination Group (CIP-CCG). His interests span LEO satellite governance, digital cooperation, and sustainable internet policies. Beyond his professional and governance roles, he is passionate about policy advocacy, continuous learning, and contributing to an open, secure, and resilient internet

Sana Nisar is a technology policy professional and researcher with expertise in network
engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and internet governance. She holds a
Bachelor’s in Computer Science (Network Engineering) from University Malaysia Sabah.
Sana has extensive experience in IT project management, having worked at Habib Bank
Limited as an IT Assistant Project Manager, leading digital transformation initiatives and
ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. Her expertise spans AI governance, cloud
computing, blockchain, and emerging internet technologies.
As an advocate for inclusive internet governance, Sana is an Individual Member of APRALO
and has actively contributed to ICANN, IGF, and the Asia Pacific Regional IGF (APrIGF). She
has been an APNIC, ICANN, APIGA, and APNG Fellow and served as a Penholder for the
Policy Network on AI (PNAI), drafting policy recommendations on AI ethics and regulation
under the United Nations’ Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
In her role with the Virtual School of Internet Governance (VSIG), Sana is part of the Urdu
Translation Team, ensuring that internet governance resources are more accessible to Urduspeaking communities. Passionate about Universal Acceptance and digital inclusion, she works
to bridge linguistic and technical gaps in internet governance education.
Bangala/Bengali Team
Mohibul Team Lead

Employed at Microsoft as a Cloud Engineer. Additionally, I am collaborating with Glenn McKnight on translating the Virtual School of Internet Governance (VSIG) course into Bengali to make Internet governance resources more accessible. As a Cloud Engineer, my work involves designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions, ensuring system security and scalability, implementing DevSecOps practices, and providing technical support to optimize cloud infrastructure. Additionally, I collaborate on projects to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in Internet governance. |
Team Members

Mohammad Abdul Haque Anu
Mohammad Abdul Haque Anu is a distinguished ICT journalist, internet governance expert, and digital policy advocate with over 33 years of experience. He serves as the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF), actively shaping national and international discussions on internet governance, digital rights, and ICT policy. He has been engaged with the UN IGF since 2006 and is a member of the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) of the Asia Pacific Regional IGF (APrIGF).
As the Executive Editor of Computer Jagat, Bangladesh’s first ICT magazine, he has played a pivotal role in promoting ICT journalism. He co-founded the Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF) and was awarded the National ICT Journalist Award in 2016. He is also a founding member and policy advisor of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).
Anu has actively contributed to the UN IGF, ICANN, and various global digital economy forums. He has led initiatives like the Bangladesh School of Internet Governance (bdSIG) and Bangladesh Youth IGF. His expertise and advocacy continue to drive digital transformation in Bangladesh and beyond.

Shah Zahidur Rahman is an emerging technology specialist and independent consultant with expertise in
digital technology policy and advocacy, as well as Internet governance. He has more than 15 years of
working experience in the Internet industry. Over his long career, he has collaborated with various
stakeholders from the private sector, government, and non-profit organizations. In his current role, he
serves as the chief digital and innovation officer of a startup company based in Bangladesh. Additionally,
he is currently a member of ICANN’s At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), Executive Committee
member of Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance (APSIG) and Vice President of Internet Society
Bangladesh Chapter (ISO-BD).
Shah has been involved with the Internet Governance since 2018. He has spoken and organized sessions
in several fora national, regional, and Un IGF on Internet governance different issues and also worked in
a program committee developing an Internet governance annual event for AprIGF and APSIG
He is passionate about technology policy and governance issues, partnerships, data governance,
cybersecurity, DNS, AI governance, data privacy and protection, and digital rights. He is a member of
APrIG – MSG, a multi-stakeholder starting a group. Furthermore, he is a fellow alumni of ICANN, ISOC,
IETF, APAN, NASIG, APrIGF, APSIG and others.

Pritatosh Jana( Kolkata)
I have been employed as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (with a focus on
Cyber Security) for more than seventeen years, and acting Vice President of the ISOC India Kolkata
Chapter. I have three master’s degrees: an M.Tech in computer science and engineering, an MSc in
computer science, an MPhil in computer science, and a Ph.D. in progress. My current study revolves
around the use of AI, particularly Deep Learning in the field of Cyber Security. I am a passionate
internet governance enthusiast and an active facilitator of ICT for Education. I am an active member of
IG platforms and my passion lies in uniting various stakeholders in the internet ecosystem to facilitate
multistakeholder interaction, achieve objectives, and represent their interests for community
development. The global internet governance practice has been a challenging field due to the steep
learning curve for newcomers. Multi-stakeholder approach encourages discussion and understanding of
internet public policies among different actors, promoting newcomers through mentoring programs and
other problem-solving principles. My involvement, participation in Internet Governance and fellowship
recipient of IGF as ISOC IGF Ambassador, APrIGF as Fellow, IETF as Fellow, Fellowship selection
committee member to various IG platform, Reviewer to ISOC IGF Youth Ambassador Fellowship,
Reviewer to ISOC Early Carrier Fellowship, ISOC Chapter Training Coordinator, Reviewer to ISOC
Mid Carrier Fellowship, ICANN as Fellow, NASIG as Fellow, MSG to APrIGF, inSIG as Fellow,
APSIG, inSIG Coordination committee member etc. I have been involved as Translator of Bengali
Language to IIT designed National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) MOOC
courses for many years.

Zulqar Nayen – eLearning, Accessibility, and Localization Consultant
Zulqar Nayen is an experienced eLearning consultant specializing in instructional design, accessibility, and localization. With a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing, he has developed and led over 200 eLearning projects globally, collaborating with Fortune 100 companies, non-profits, and government organizations.
His expertise includes multimedia-rich content development, LMS integration, AI-driven accessibility enhancements, and localization strategies. Zulqar has worked with Johnson & Johnson, the International Disability Alliance (IDA), and the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) to create engaging and accessible learning experiences tailored for diverse global audiences.
As part of the Bengali Localization Team for VSIG, Zulqar is committed to ensuring Internet Governance education is effectively translated and adapted for Bengali-speaking learners, promoting accessibility and inclusivity in digital education.

Team Lead Bibi Rookayya Gulmahamed

Bibi Rookayya Gulmahamed is an executive member of the Youth IGF Canada and an active participant in Internet governance discussions. She was a fellow at ICANN76 and ICANN81 and has been selected for the ICANN83 Fellowship. Additionally, she was a fellow at ARIN53 and ARIN54, gaining valuable insights into global and regional Internet policy development.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Prince Edward Island and an Advanced Diploma in Applied Computing from the University of Mauritius. She has also completed a comprehensive program in cybersecurity and is currently enrolled in a data analytics program.
Professionally, she serves as a Records and Information Management (RIM) Coordinator at the Department of Education with the Government of PEI in Canada, where she focuses on information governance, compliance, and digital records management. She is also a strong advocate for digital inclusion and Universal Acceptance, promoting equitable access to technology and multilingual Internet accessibility to ensure all users, regardless of language or script, can fully participate online. With a deep commitment to responsible Internet governance, she is actively engaged in initiatives to enhance online accessibility, and linguistic diversity in the digital space.
